Google Is Flipping The Script On Dental SEO
And most dentists have no idea what's coming.

If you’ve been quietly climbing the Google rankings, getting traffic from your website, and thinking “SEO is working” to yourself…
This next part might sting a little.
Google is rolling out something called AI Overviews, much heavier than previously.
Instead of showing a full page of links (like your website), Google now gives searchers an AI-generated answer, right at the top.
So if someone searches, “What’s the best way to fix a chipped tooth?”
They’ll now see a full summary pulled from across the web, written by AI, before they ever see your site.
Now yes, they still need an actual dentist to fix their tooth.
But the moment to build trust, make an impression, or earn the click? That’s gone.
No visit to your site. No call to your office. No patient for you, (yet).
The clicks you used to earn organically are going to AI summaries. And if you’re only investing in SEO, you’re now at the mercy of Google’s AI.
That’s not where you want to be.
What Are Smart Practices Doing?
They own their outcomes. Which means leveraging all of the below.
✅ Google Ads: You still control visibility with paid search, to a targeted group.
✅ Local SEO: Map Pack Rankings still drive calls and clicks directly.
✅ Retargeting: Stay in front of people after they visit your website or listing.
✅ Trust Signals: Real reviews, photos, and landing pages built to convert at all stages.
✅ Data Ownership: Build your email and text lists before visibility gets harder.
We’ve been building around this for a while. Because the writing’s been on the wall. You can ask any of our clients, I’ve been talking their ear off about this for over two years.
The practices who adapt early won’t just survive this shift, they’ll scoop up market share while everyone else is still Googling “Why did my SEO traffic crash?”
If you want a gut check on where your practice stands in all this, hit reply and I’ll take a look.
You don’t need to panic.
But you do need a plan.
