Let’s cut to the chase: Your website might be pushing potential patients away - and you don’t even realize it.

Every day, people in your area are searching for a dentist. They land on your website. And then… poof 💨, they disappear without booking.

So, what’s going wrong?

Here are the top three website mistakes that could be costing you new patients—and how to fix them.

1. Your Website Is Slow (And Google Hates That)

🚨 The Problem: 40% of people bounce if a website takes more than 3 seconds to load. Plus, Google deprioritizes slow sites in search rankings.

✅ The Fix: Run a speed test at PageSpeed Insights and optimize images, remove unnecessary plugins, and enable caching.

2. There’s No Trust Factor

🚨 The Problem: If your site feels outdated or lacks proof that you’re a great dentist, visitors will second-guess booking an appointment or simply look for an alternative option, leading them away from your website.

✅ The Fix: Start by adding real patient testimonials with photos included, if possible. People want to know that other people were in their shoes, the tribe effect. You should also showcase your Google reviews (bonus points if you display the stars!) Lastly, include high-quality, real photos of your practice and team. This is probably the biggest push-and-pull we have with our practices, we know you don’t like pausing work to take photos. 😁

3. Mobile Users Can’t Navigate Your Site

🚨 The Problem: Over 70% of local searches happen on mobile. If your site looks wonky or loads weird on a phone, you’re losing potential patients. Full stop. Your website should be optimized for mobile first, desktop second.

✅ The Fix: First off, test your site on a phone—can you easily click the “Book Now” button at any point? Next, ensure forms are easy to fill out, nobody wants to zoom in and out just to book an appointment. Friction leads to lost patients. Also, use a mobile-friendly design. If your site isn’t responsive, it’s time for an update!
