If you feel like AI tools are multiplying faster than you can keep up with, you’re not wrong. We even feel it as an agency.
Every week there’s a new platform. A new feature. A new “This changes everything!” post. Most of them get a ton of buzz, then fade away. Circle of life.
It’s a full-time job trying to stay on top of it. And you already have one of those.
But for dental practices specifically, here’s what I’m seeing from inside the trenches.
The practices quietly pulling ahead right now are not the ones chasing every shiny object. They’re the ones using AI in very specific ways.
They are cleaning up, expanding and optimizing landing pages extremely fast. Extremely fast. I’m almost embarrassed to say how quickly we pump these out.
They are building FAQ libraries within their website and AI Assistant landings to show up in AI Search results. These are game changers.
They are analyzing and auditing their target audiences faster than ever, saving a ton of money with their paid ad campaigns. Ad dollars stretch, revenue builds.
They are supporting their front-desk staff with auto-text, enhanced call tracking and data entry. They aren’t needing to hire as much, instead keeping that revenue in-house.
None of this is sexy. But it’s effective. It’s the AI version of ‘Chop wood, carry water.’
At the same time, let me be very clear. If you ignore this shift completely, you will slowly lose ground.
You know this, but Search is changing. Patient Discovery is changing. AI isn’t some distant future concept anymore. It’s baked into Google. It’s baked into Apple. It’s baked into the tools your patients are already using. When my grandparents are telling me ‘I ChatGPT’d it just this morning!’ It means we have reached velocity.
That doesn’t mean you need to panic. It does mean you need to be paying attention for when you decide to roll out your AI strategy. Because eventually, it will no longer be an option if you want to keep your doors open.
You don’t need to adopt every tool. You don’t need to keep up with all the latest breaking news. You don’t need to feel like you are being left behind. You simply need to plan for what it will look like when you start folding in these tools to your practice.
We’ve been building that framework for a while now. We staffed up. We expanded. We rolled into several new markets. To name a few, if you are a practice owner in Wichita, Omaha or the Ankeny-West Des Moines areas, you’ll likely see ads for our application process soon.
That’s intentional. We’re not trying to be everywhere.
We’re building systems in specific markets, dialing them in, and then repeating the model. It’s boring but it makes our practices a ton of money. You can take the same approach with your practice. Boring and effective.
AI is not replacing fundamentals. It’s amplifying them.
The practices that win over the next few years will not be the ones with the flashiest websites. They’ll be the ones that understand how to send the right signals to search systems, structure their information clearly, and remove friction from the patient journey. There, that’s the secret sauce.
I say this with all honesty, you shouldn’t be anxious or worried about what AI will bring to your industry. You should be super excited. There will be a ton of opportunity and benefits to those that take advantage.
It’s like getting a jump start on using ‘This thing they call Google’ in the late 90’s.

PS: If you want a couple extra tips on this topic, the podcast is where I unpack it a little more. New episode every week, they are just a few minutes long. But you’ll get a bit more context on how to be actionable. 👇
