The $40 Million Talent War That's Coming For Dental Marketing
Marketing talent in the dental space is about to get much, much more expensive.
Read Time: 1 Minute, 54 Seconds
FYI: We’ve staffed up and will be bringing on a handful of new practices in July. Send me an email if you want a team that will be as dedicated as you are, transparent and will fill your chairs. You’ll get the output of an entire division for less than the cost of one full-time employee, I promise you that.
What's up! Kyle, back again.
This week, something happened that should terrify every dental practice owner who's working with a marketing agency.
Apple just lost one of their top AI engineers. Meta offered him somewhere between $10M-$40M per year to jump ship.
And Apple couldn't compete.
The Great AI Talent Grab Has Arrived
While you've been focused on getting more patients, the biggest tech companies in the world are fighting over the people who know how to make AI work for marketing.
Here's What’s Happening
Meta is currently offering $10M-40M annually for top AI talent.
OpenAI is poaching engineers with similar packages and aren’t stopping.
Apple just lost their head of machine learning models.
Even smaller AI companies are offering 2-3x salary increases!
Why This Matters For Your Practice: The people who actually know how to optimize Google Ads with AI, build conversion-focused websites, and create content that ranks? They're about to become impossibly expensive.
What This Means For Dental Marketing
Most marketing agencies are scrambling right now. They have maybe one person who understands AI tools, and they're realizing that person is about to become very expensive to keep. In full transparency, my team has two AI experts on the team. And retaining them was a battle.
Here's What's Happening To Agencies
The unprepared ones will lose their AI talent and fall behind, quickly.
The desperate ones will overpay for talent and pass costs to clients.
The smart ones invested in AI expertise early and built it into their core team.
The Difference? Agencies that saw this coming 2-3 years ago and made AI a priority are now sitting pretty. The ones that treated AI as a "nice to have" are about to get crushed by talent costs. This is why I decided to spend up and lock in our talent for years to come.
The Small Window You Have Right Now
Here's The Opportunity: AI marketing expertise is still relatively affordable because most dental practices don't know they need it yet.
The agencies who are investing in AI talent now, before the prices skyrocket, will dominate dental marketing for the next 5 years. The ones who wait will either pay through their nose or get left behind.
My Prediction: Within 18 months, there will be two types of dental marketing agencies.
Premium AI-Powered Agencies charging $7,000-$10,000 per month with incredible results.
Standard Agencies doing manual work for $2,000-$4,000 per month with mediocre results.
The middle will disappear. Agencies won't be able to afford good AI talent at mid-tier pricing, it’ll be impossible. It almost is already.
My Advice? Lock in your agency or in-house talent right now. If it’s an agency, ask them about signing a multi-year deal if they are using AI in an impactful way. If it’s an in-house employee, look into signing them to a multi-year deal.
This isn't about jumping on the latest trend. This is about securing access to the people who will determine whether your marketing succeeds or fails in the next decade.
The talent war is here. Make sure you're not left behind.
