Most dentists assume their website is “fine.”
It loads when they check it. It looks good on their laptop. And it was built by a professional, so it must be working.
Except that is not how patients experience it. And it is definitely not how Google judges it.
Right now, slow websites and poor mobile experiences are quietly costing practices new patients every single day. Not because people dislike your brand. It’s because friction (and impatience!) pushes them away before they ever become a lead.
Here is the truth your team or agency may not be telling you.
Patients look for dentists fast. They search, they click the top few results and they choose the one that loads quickly, feels clean, and makes it easy to act.
If your site is slow, buggy, crowded, or confusing on mobile, people leave. And they do not come back. So instead of trying to audit your site yourself, ask your internal team or your agency these questions.
1. How Fast Does Our Site Load On Real Phones, Not Just Desktops?
Mobile is where almost every new patient visits you first. If your team cannot answer this clearly, it is a red flag. The audit sites that are worth the time (or price) will measure of each these separately.
2. What Specifically Slows Down Our Load Speed & What’s Our Plan?
There should be a short, confident answer. Not a technical explanation you cannot understand. You should then triage your action plan.
3. How Easy Is It To Book From Mobile?
If it takes more than one or two taps, or the CTA is buried, you are losing potential patients and patient revenue. Most sites will redirect to your third-party (Weave, etc) software to book, just make sure it’s linked correctly.
4. Do We Have Any Pages That Are Too Heavy Or Cluttered?
Aesthetics should support speed, not fight it. It’s awesome to have a great looking website but above all, it’s need to be functional and be able to rank well.
These questions reveal whether your marketing partner is monitoring performance or just hoping things work.
Good answers will be simple, confident and measurable. Bad answers will sound technical, vague or defensive.
A fast, clean, mobile-friendly website outperforms almost anything else you can do.
You do not need perfection. You need reliability. And you need Google and AI Search to rank you well, otherwise no one will ever seen your beautiful website to begin with.
Patients make decisions quickly. And if your website slows them down, they will choose someone else.
